Last month the Marañón Waterkeeper team took the film Confluir on tour down the Maranon River. With this we were able to show our appreciation to local communities for work they have done protection their river, put this in context of the larger conservation movement of the Marañón and create conversations around the future of the river.
The film was well received in these remote corners of the Maranon, with many people from the villages of Tupén and Mendán appreciating the chance to see the river from source to jungle, knowing where their community fitted in on this continuum.
Confluir will be released online free to view on Youtube in October! Sign up to our newsletter to receive an email update when it comes out! We hope you will enjoy this 38 minute adventure highlighting the scientific and social efforts to protect the Marañón.
Thanks to Marañón Experience and Her Odyssey for sponsoring this project! There are more villages that would still love to see the film, contact us to join the festival and help make this happen!
